Chef Alexander “Sandy” Smith is the chef and owner of Gramercy Bistro located at the top of Water Street in Williamstown, where he specializes in locally-sourced New American cuisine. Sandy is a classically trained French chef focused on international recipes with a local fusion.
Sandy is always committed to using the finest and freshest ingredients around, supporting independent farms, both locally and abroad, since opening in 2001. Sandy buys organic, farm-raised food and Gramercy is a proud member of Berkshire Grown. Whenever possible, Sandy sources produce and poultry from farms in Berkshire County such as East Mountain Farm and Square Roots Farm.
